an artistic lodging experience
The description and amenities were just as they described. This sweet home is located in the Friendly neighborhood and is perfectly positioned to make the park and local market within arms reach. quiet and down to earth. I loved having the art studio as part of the entrance. Steve and Leonie have created a respire and sanctuary!

This was a great place – lovely garden, comfortable space, easy access to a park and great local market. Hosts were wonderful, would certainly recommend.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Eugene! Steve was so nice and the place is completely unique – half pottery studio and half bnb. The place is really clean and has a lot of unique ceramics. We wish we would have had time to take a ceramics class, but hopefully we’ll have the chance to do so some day. Steve also dropped off about 6 eggs from their hens in the morning – amazing! Thanks for a great stay!

We needed a place to stay while we went house hunting. This cottage was great– nice kitchen, bath plus two rooms, one a bedroom, the other had a futon sofa that could be used as either a couch or a bed. The place was very clean. An added perk was passing through the pottery on the way into our digs another was the beautiful pottery the kitchen was equipped with. Steve and Leonie were great. Neighborhood is very quiet, convenient and homey.

The only thing I regret was not being able to stay longer! This is a quiet, serene unit to the side of the house– we were pleasantly surprised by how much it felt like a private cabin. The neighborhood is adorable, walkable and welcoming, with beautiful gardens and a mellow vibe. My mom and I were on a road trip that had gone terribly wrong the previous day, and I am so very grateful that Steve and Leonie were able to accommodate us on short notice. There were tasty blueberries, fresh eggs and milk waiting for us when we arrived. My mom used to sculpt, and enjoyed the pieces around the house, and the lovely touches throughout. I am glad we had the chance to relax and recharge in this wonderful space.

A truly unique place to stay and a must for any pottery lover. Steve and Leonie were polite and resourceful, providing good information on seeing the nearby redwoods.

We stayed at Steve and Leonie’s for our daughter’s graduation from U of O. It was a wonderful stay and just great for the occasion. Our hosts were very welcoming and supported an outdoor BBQ the day of graduation. It was such a treat to be surrounded by their beautiful tile work, other ceramics and paintings. The chickens in the backyard contributed a fun atmosphere and yummy fresh eggs. Inside is a spacious kitchen and large counter and two other nice rooms, the master bedroom and a small living room that we used as a second bedroom with the futon. The bathroom has a nice tiled shower. This was our first airbnb experience and we will come back for more!

Steve and Leonie’s place was perfect! The proximity to the Friendly City Park, the Friendly Street Market, and Moss Crossing was great! Steve and Leonie welcomed us with fresh picked delicious raspberries and other delectables from their garden. We would be happy to stay there again!

We only stayed one night at Steve & Leonie’s sweet place in Eugene but we would recommend it to others who want a comfortable, well appointed but unpretentious place to stay. Comfortable beds, full kitchen and backyard to relax in. Leonie welcomed us and showed us around, but we had the private space to ourselves. The playground park next was a bonus, in this bucolic neighbourhood. The hosts also left eggs and fresh garden picked raspberries, thanks!

Very nice and spacious place. Although we only stayed one night, we all felt the house was very comfortable and great for longer periods as well. Just few minutes drive away from the best restaurants in town, this place was a great deal.

Very cute place! The beds were so comfortable. Everything was very clean and I loved all of the pottery dishes. They even brought fresh eggs for us to use. Thank you so much for the last minuest booking

What a groovy gem of an Airbnb! We booked on the fly, arrived late and awoke to an art filled, eclectic place that was just lovely. The fresh chicken eggs were a huge hit and we were able to wander out back and say thanks to the chickens on the property. Our kids loved it! Thanks for the hospitality, we really appreciate you taking our reservation last minute. We loved your space and your pottery! Next time I would love to carve a mug or two.

As soon as we walked thru the door it felt like home! Steve was available to chat with about our travels and the world as he knows it. They have a truly magical spot to share complete with homemade dishes and coffee ready to brew in the morning. Thank you Steve & Leonie!!!
The sense of mutual respect went a very long way to making feel like we belonged there. There was no disconnect time between being on the road and being at home. Steve your thoughtful and kind conversation made you a friend to us! If you think of it, email your phone number so I can ring you up next time we come to town. Convince us to stay longer!
About an hour before we arrived in Eugene we were called by our hotel, telling us they were overbooked and didn’t have a room for us. The entire town was booked, so we decided to try airbandb for the very first time. It was nearly 10PM on Friday and Steve and Leonie welcomed us into their comfortable and quirky potters’ studio. Leonie met us at the door with a smile on her face despite the late hour. She gave us a quick tour and let us get right to sleep. The kitchen was large and included fresh eggs (from their own hens!), coffee and spices. The bedroom was comfortable and my husband enjoyed the flannel sheets. We’re used to a bigger bed at home, but was an opportunity to snuggle. There were floor heaters that we figured out how to turn off after our first night (knobs right on the heaters), which helped our sleep as they made and ticking sound when cooling. We had lots of plans with family and used this wonderfully comfortable artists’ studio primarily for sleeping. Steve and Leonie were wonderful, non-obtrusive hosts: they were understanding when I broke a cup and even helped look for my husbands lost computer cable after we left. The neighborhood was very quiet and we were close to many of our family meeting spots. Great sleep in neat location.

This was unforgettable and just amazing, Steve and Leonie own the most lovely art and pottery studio and even offered free lessons for my girlfriend. It was fantastic and a very bright idea.

Leonie and Steve were very welcoming and warm. They were having a pottery class in progress when we arrived and it was fun to watch the kids producing their unique pieces. The house was everything Leonie and Steve had stated. The house was very representative of Eugene and thought the place was charming – the pottery being a fun addition to our stay. I loved the art and the unique feeling of being immersed in the Eugene vibe.

This is a cozy house attached to a nice little pottery studio. Convenient location, chickens in the back yard, a full kitchen if you need it. We enjoyed our stay and loved the pottery lesson! The bedroom was very cozy, and it was great to have such nice pottery to use for our evening tea.

Steve and Leonie were warm, welcoming hosts and lived up to the name of the neighborhood: the Friendly Neighborhood. Leonie made some soup for us and shared fresh arugula from her garden! Thank you, Leonie! The neighborhood was safe and unpretentious where residents walk and bike to work, school, and nearby restaurants and businesses. Very comfortable and is a good value for those who need to overnight in Eugene. The bedrooms, bathroom, and custom-kitchen were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The friendly dog is likely to keep guests company while outside.

Steve and Leonies place was perfect for us! We arrived late from a long 9 hour drive and were greeted with a warm fire and a smile. The place was clean and inviting. The beds were cozy and comfortable. The spacious kitchen was perfect for the special breakfast we had planned. So glad Leonie left us gourmet coffee! The ambiance is that of a potters studio. Hand crafted Mosaic tiles and beautiful pottery. My favorite part was my pottery lesson! Steve was fantastic in the way he kindly showed me step by step all of the basics of his art. I was able to make almost a perfect bowl in less than an hour! He inspired me so much that I started searching to buy my own potters wheel! Their dog Sterling is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve met and we enjoyed sharing our bench with him during our lesson. All in all we felt very welcomed and comfortable and know that we always have a place to stay when we travel to Oregon. Thanks guys! See you again soon!
